About Carly

I am a queer, polyamorous agender woman (she/any) with a disability. I live with my nesting partner in Seattle with our dog, Tyko. I enjoy riding my bike, playing board games, and reading, especially genre fiction and comics. I have also recently taken up cross-stitch, which I am enjoying greatly.

I strive to bring my genuineness and my personal experience to my sessions. I want our work to be collaborative. I have a Ph.D. in counseling but you are the specialist on you.

I approach counseling from a Relational-Cultural perspective which is a feminist, multicultural lens that focuses on developing a positive relationship between the therapist and the client to help support the client making positive changes in their life. This growth-fostering relationship can be used as a model to improve all other relationships in the client's life. This approach focuses on how to best support diverse and minority populations. In a practical sense, I will be striving to create a positive connection with you and I will be encouraging you to assess your past relationships and how they may have impacted you now.
